Director, Coalitions & Member Experience

Core responsibilities:

• Design and oversee the end-to-end member engagement journey from onboarding through renewal decision points
• Develop renewal strategy and coordinate renewal timelines with recruitment, finance, and senior leadership
• Design and steward coalition structures that enable peer learning, shared leadership, and collective action
• Serve as primary relationship owner for complex, high-touch, or strategically significant member institutions
• Supervise, support, and develop full-time and contract staff including the Senior Coordinator for Coalitions and Member Experience

This role strengthens civic participation and democratic principles in higher education by fostering effective community partnerships and developing students' citizenship skills, helping institutions address polarization and prepare students to navigate and shape democracy.

Required qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree required, graduate degree preferred
• 3+ years in roles with similar capacity & responsibilities including experience performing duties outlined above
• Excellent customer service skills with strong attention to detail and follow-through
• Experience working with CRMs such as Salesforce to track member engagement and lifecycle activity
• Demonstrated ability to use data and qualitative insight to inform decisions and adapt strategies
• Comprehensive understanding of civic and community engagement in higher education
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly in support of member engagement and coalition-building

Compensation: $85,000 - $95,000 annual salary
