Director, Agriculture Policy

• Lead the development and implementation of innovative agricultural policy solutions to reduce climate impacts from agriculture, focusing on cropland and fertilizer use.
• Guide strategy for analyzing complex agriculture issues and designing solutions that align stakeholders' economic incentives with planetary health.
• Serve as a lead authority on agricultural policy, representing EDF in various forums and building partnerships with government, private sector, and community stakeholders.
• Drive fundraising efforts, including cultivating donor relationships and drafting proposals, to advance EDF's mission.

This role directly addresses agriculture's contribution to climate change by developing policies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable farming practices, benefiting the environment and global food systems.

• 10+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree may substitute for up to two years of experience.
• Deep subject matter expertise in agriculture and fertilizer use.
• Proven track record of planning and implementing strategic programs across complex institutional landscapes.
• Strong leadership and project management skills, with ability to manage multiple projects and lead small teams.

This is a 2-year fixed-term position with full benefits. Salary not specified. Hybrid work in Washington, D.C. or fully remote with travel to D.C. for critical meetings.
