About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced, AI-fluent account management leader to lead a team responsible for renewals, retention, cross-selling, pricing strategy, and growth across a high-value subscription book of business.
As Director, Account Management, you will lead a team and help raise the bar on execution across a complex customer portfolio. You will lead a disciplined account management motion focused on renewals, retention, cross-selling, and long-term customer value, while partnering cross-functionally to deliver a strong customer experience.
You are a commercially minded, data-driven, AI-fluent people leader who brings structure to ambiguity and knows how to focus teams on the highest-impact work. You combine strong commercial judgment with a rigorous approach to execution, and you know how to coach teams to use customer diagnostics, thoughtful planning, and data-backed decision-making to drive results.
Location: This position supports remote work and should be based near one of our U.S. East Coast office locations or in-person hybrid at our Carlsbad, CA location.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Account Managers, building a high-performing, inclusive, disciplined, and accountable team culture
- Own team performance across renewals, retention, cross-selling, pricing strategy, forecast accuracy, and growth
- Drive a structured account management approach, including customer diagnostics, book segmentation, proactive renewal planning, and risk identification
- Guide the team in executing data-driven engagement and business development campaigns that support retention, cross-selling, and growth
- Partner with the team on complex deals, retention risks, executive-level customer conversations, and non-standard renewal scenarios
- Use data, dashboards, and Salesforce rigorously to inspect pipeline health, drive accountability, and improve outcomes
- Set a high bar for execution excellence, ensuring the team operates with consistency, urgency, discipline, and rigor
- Collaborate closely with Customer Success, Product, Support, Sales, and leadership to deliver a strong customer experience
- Champion adoption of AI-enabled tools and workflows that improve account planning, data analysis, and team productivity
- Develop talent, raise performance standards, and help shape the future of account management at 3E
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Track record of success in account management or a similar renewal-focused commercial role in a SaaS, subscription, or other recurring-revenue business
- Track record of leading, coaching, and developing quota-carrying Account Managers responsible for renewals, retention, cross-selling, and growth
- Strong understanding of a disciplined account management motion, including customer diagnostics, book segmentation, renewal planning, and proactive risk identification
- Ability to coach teams on building and executing a planned approach to renewals, including early engagement, account insights, value-based pricing, retention strategy, cross-sell opportunity identification, and executive alignment
- Experience helping teams prioritize accounts in the book of business based on renewal timing, customer health, growth potential, and retention risk
- Strong commercial judgment in complex renewal, retention, pricing, and non-standard deal situations
- Experience supporting complex customer situations and executive-level customer conversations
- A highly data-driven leadership style with strong Salesforce rigor and comfort managing through dashboards, reporting, forecasting, and pipeline inspection
- AI fluency and comfort as an enthusiastic user of AI-enabled tools to improve planning, analysis, workflow efficiency, and day-to-day execution
- Strong communication, prioritization, and team leadership skills, with a clear focus on execution excellence, accountability, and proactive ownership
What's In It For You?
- Mission-driven impact: Your work helps organizations protect people, safeguard products, and navigate complex regulatory environments while leading a team that delivers real value to customers every day.
- High-impact leadership: You will inherit a solid foundation and have meaningful scope to coach talent, strengthen commercial execution, and define excellence in account management.
