Mission
What you will drive
We are seeking a sharp, politically savvy Digital Content Manager/Editor to help spearhead the launch of SwampWatchโa definitive digital archive tracking abuse of power and corruption in Washington, D.C. We aren't just documenting problems; we are providing the roadmap for accountability. You will be responsible for curating the "60 most egregious cases" since the November 2024 elections, pairing hard-hitting journalism with actionable policy "fixes." Duties Curatorial Leadership: Identify and prioritize the most significant instances of federal corruption and abuse of power post-November 2024. Content Synthesis: Oversee AI-assisted synopses of news reports, analyses, and policy options. You must "proof and improve," ensuring every entry is punchy, accurate, and stylistically consistent. The "Fix" Menu: Research and link specific legislative, regulatory, or litigation-based solutions for each case to provide a path to avoid recurrence. Requirements Editorial Excellence: A ruthless eye for significance. You know the difference between a "slow news day" story and a fundamental breach of public trust. Policy & Legal Chops: You are comfortable navigating executive orders, federal regulations, and pending legislation. Journalistic Rigor: Mastery of AP Style and a commitment to high-standard aggregation. Squarespace Savvy: You can navigate the backend of Squarespace with ease to upload, format, and organize digital content. Education: B.A. or higher in Journalism, Public Policy, or a related field.
