Position Overview The League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania ("LWVPA" or "the League") is a nonpartisan, grassroots nonprofit that has worked to empower voters and defend democracy across the Commonwealth for over 100 years. LWVPA seeks a part-time Digital Communications Organizer to amplify League stories and wins, boost our profile and brand awareness, and engage the public to vote, volunteer, join, and get involved in civic life. The main focus will be to work with the LWVPA team on messaging and to strategize, create, and distribute digital communications, media, public-facing messaging, and informational materials about statewide programs and Local Leagues. The position will engage regularly with staff and League members to generate content, including social media posts, reels and short-form video, website and email content, rapid response messaging, and more as needed. Key Responsibilities (included but not limited to): Content Calendar and Strategy Develop and maintain a rolling weekly digital content calendar, with a minimum 7-day lead time on all proposed posts, themes, and ideas Present weekly content themes and concepts to staff for review and input before scheduling Coordinate the calendar with LWVPA program priorities, advocacy moments, and the November 2026 election cycle Propose monthly strategies for increasing social media post engagement (likes, shares, click-throughs) and reaching new audiences Social Media Content Creation and Posting Publish a minimum of 2 social media posts per week; target of 3 posts per week Coach and facilitate at least one authentic, unscripted short-form video per week — featuring LWVPA staff, Board members, or League members Produce 1–2 digital assets per week (graphics, quote cards, carousels, or short-form video), and assist with paid boosting as directed Lift up and amplify stories, wins, and activities from LWVPA and Local Leagues Support event promotion across LWVPA digital platforms Contribute to rapid-response digital communications as needed, in consultation with staff Local League and Partner Engagement Engage regularly with Local League and nonpartisan partner social media — liking, commenting, and re-sharing relevant content Build, maintain, monitor, and engage with a list of priority Local League and partner accounts Amplify Local League events, wins, and voter education efforts through LWVPA's channels Analytics and Reporting Provide a brief weekly status update to the Executive Director on content calendar progress and any emerging issues Conduct a monthly analytics review of social media performance, including engagement rate, follower growth, and video performance Present data-informed recommendations for strategy adjustments on a monthly basis Additional responsibilities, as capacity allows: Format and design toolkits and other assets for Local League distribution Draft and support distribution of the monthly e-newsletter Support website updates and maintenance as needed Assist in building digital communications capacity of Local Leagues, including guidance on social media best practices Support development of talking points, press releases, and rapid-response messaging related to election and civic engagement issues Assist with identifying earned media opportunities What you will need to be successful: Excellent storytelling skills, including writing, editing, and graphic design Experience creating engaging digital and social media content, including reels and short-form video. Experience with website, email marketing, and digital communications platforms. Experience with Canva or similar design tools. Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in communications, digital media, public relations, marketing, or a related field, preferred Experience in nonprofit, civic engagement, advocacy, or community-based communications preferred. Strong commitment to LWVPA's nonpartisan mission and equitable access to civic participation. Position Details: Type: Part-time, fixed-term independent contractor Term: September 1 – December 31, 2026. Position may be renewable pending funding and performance. Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week Compensation: $28 - $32/hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications Location: Remote; candidates must be based in Pennsylvania. In-state travel and occasional evening and weekend hours will be required.
