How to Apply for Digital Associate, Texting

at MissionWired

๐Ÿข About MissionWired

MissionWired is a mission-driven agency that has helped nonprofits and progressive political campaigns raise over $4.5 billion, working with high-impact clients like Sandy Hook Promise and Save the Children. The company is known for its innovative, data-driven fundraising strategies and a collaborative culture that values creativity and social impact. If you want to use your digital skills to drive meaningful change, MissionWired offers a unique opportunity to work on campaigns that matter.

About This Role

As a Digital Associate focused on Texting, you will be the backbone of SMS/MMS/RCS communication campaigns for multiple clients, handling high-volume production while ensuring messages are timely and effective. This role is critical because text messaging has become one of the most powerful tools for mobilizing supporters and driving donations, directly impacting the success of fundraising and advocacy efforts. You'll work cross-functionally with writers, designers, and technical teams to bring these campaigns to life.

๐Ÿ’ก A Day in the Life

A typical day starts by reviewing client calendars and prioritizing text message sends for the day. You'll draft and schedule SMS/MMS/RCS messages, coordinate with writers for copy and designers for assets, and monitor campaign performance in real-time. You may also troubleshoot technical issues, onboard new clients, and participate in strategy meetings to optimize future campaigns.

๐ŸŽฏ Who MissionWired Is Looking For

  • You thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and can manage multiple texting campaigns simultaneously without sacrificing quality or accuracy.
  • You have strong writing skills and can craft concise, compelling text messages that resonate with diverse audiences while adhering to brand guidelines.
  • You are analytically minded, able to interpret campaign performance data to optimize send times, messaging, and audience segmentation.
  • You have 1-2 years of experience with text messaging programs (e.g., using platforms like Mobile Commons, ThruText, or Hustle) and are comfortable with technical aspects like MMS and RCS.

๐Ÿ“ Tips for Applying to MissionWired

1

Highlight any direct experience with SMS/MMS/RCS platforms (e.g., Twilio, Mobile Commons) in your resume and cover letter, even if it was part of a volunteer role or internship.

2

Showcase your ability to handle high-volume, time-sensitive tasks by providing a specific example of a project where you managed multiple deadlines successfully.

3

Tailor your cover letter to mention a MissionWired client you admire (e.g., Sandy Hook Promise) and explain why their mission resonates with you.

4

Quantify your achievements in digital communications, such as 'Increased click-through rates by 20% through A/B testing text message copy.'

5

Proofread your application meticulouslyโ€”attention to detail is critical for this role, and any typos could signal carelessness.

โœ‰๏ธ What to Emphasize in Your Cover Letter

["Emphasize your passion for progressive causes and how your skills can help MissionWired's clients achieve their fundraising goals.", "Demonstrate your understanding of the text messaging channel's unique advantages (e.g., high open rates, immediacy) and how you've leveraged them in past roles.", 'Highlight your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (writers, designers, technical experts) to deliver cohesive campaigns.', 'Mention specific metrics or results from your previous work that show you can drive engagement and conversions through text.']
