About
The Development Officer – Executive & Board Engagement role is responsible for coordinating the CEO's development portfolio, supporting the Board's fundraising and ambassador role, and maintaining relationship-building efforts in metropolitan areas.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the day-to-day coordinator for the CEO's development portfolio, including:
- Maintaining and managing the CEO donor and prospect portfolio in the CRM
- Conducting prospect research
- Preparing meeting briefings
- Drafting follow-up communications
- Support the Board's fundraising and ambassador role by:
- Helping identify opportunities for board introductions
- Preparing briefings and materials for board-hosted meetings
- Tracking board-related cultivation and follow-up actions
- Support relationship-building efforts in metropolitan areas, starting with New York, by:
- Maintaining and growing a curated NYC contact list
- Scheduling and coordinating one-on-one meetings for leadership visits
- Assisting with hosting small gatherings
- Maintain accurate CRM data and reporting, track fundraising metrics and pipeline health, create simple dashboards or summaries for leadership, and improve processes for donor stewardship and follow-up

Required skills and experience:
- 3–5 years experience in development, nonprofit operations, or partnerships
- Experience supporting senior leaders or managing donor portfolios
- Strong writing and research skills
- Excellent project management and follow-through
- High emotional intelligence, cultural sensitivity and professionalism
- Comfort interacting with donors and board members
- Passion for conservation/climate mission
- Spanish language proficiency strongly preferred but not required
