Development Officer

• Develop and implement fundraising strategies to meet or exceed programmatic annual and long-term fundraising goals for ABC's BirdsPlus and Together for Birds programs.
• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with corporate partners, high-net-worth individuals, impact-oriented investors, and foundations.
• Lead donor communications, including reports, updates, thank-you letters, and personalized outreach; assist in developing pitch decks, proposals, and outreach materials.
• Track fundraising progress, maintain donor records in CRM (EveryAction), and help develop program budgets.

This role directly supports bird conservation by securing private funding for programs that restore habitats, incentivize sustainable practices, and measure ecological impact, helping to halt extinctions and protect bird populations across the Americas.

• Bachelor’s degree and at least three years’ experience in major gifts and fundraising from the private sector.
• Excellent writing and oral communication skills; experience with funding proposals, donor updates, presentations, and public speaking.
• Experience working with corporate partners and/or investor relations or impact investing.
• Proficiency with Excel and CRMs (EveryAction preferred); strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines.
