Development Director

• Lead RLF's overall development and fundraising strategy, setting annual and multi-year goals to meet revenue targets.
• Support principal fundraisers (staff and board) in donor prospecting, cultivation, and asks by providing research, materials, and talking points.
• Design and manage fundraising operations, including internal systems, policies, processes, and technology infrastructure (e.g., Salesforce CRM).
• Strengthen donor stewardship and expand the diversity of RLF's donor pool through research and evaluation of new potential funders.

This role drives the philanthropic partnerships that enable RLF to protect land and ocean spaces, advance climate and environmental justice policies, and generate public funding for conservation and climate initiatives, creating a just and resilient world for people and nature.

• 10+ years of progressive nonprofit fundraising experience with increasing responsibility for development strategy, planning, and management.
• Broad knowledge of fundraising approaches for philanthropic foundations and family offices.
• Experience designing fundraising operations, systems, and teams, and leveraging modern data management practices and technology (e.g., CRM).
• Exceptional composition, editing, and spoken communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.

Full-time, exempt position. Remote within the U.S. with regular travel for meetings, conferences, and staff retreats. Salary not specified.
