Development Director

Core responsibilities:

• Prospect, cultivate and secure new donor relationships with high-net-worth individuals and family foundations, soliciting gifts ranging from the low six to seven-figures
• Prepare gift solicitation and stewardship documents including individual and family foundation proposals, customized pitch decks, ask letters, grant and annual reports, and donor communications
• Meet annual, personal fundraising targets set by the leadership team, with a collective fundraising goal of $20 million over the next four years
• Create compelling donor communications by collaborating with Factor E subject-matter experts to identify, craft, and share inspiring success stories and impact updates

This role builds an enduring source of innovation and technology for Sub-Saharan Africa that will have a compounding and positive impact for generations to come by accelerating breakthrough climate technologies in emerging markets to drive impact for economies, communities, and the planet.

Required qualifications:

• 10+ years of direct and progressive experience working in fundraising with demonstrable track record of success
• Minimum bachelor's degree in relevant field
• Strong written and verbal English and strong presentation skills with experience writing donor presentations, proposals, annual reports, grant applications, and other fundraising materials
• Skilled at fostering strong, collaborative relationships across diverse stakeholders and comfortable working in multi-cultural teams and international settings
• Highly proactive and self-directed, comfortable building from the ground up, thriving in ambiguity, and focused on delivering results
