About

Development and Communications Manager

As a key member of our team, the Development and Communications Manager will play a critical role in facilitating the growth of our fundraising program and managing organizational communications.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the growth of the fundraising program with a focus on researching, cultivating, and securing foundation grants
  • Manage general organizational communications including social media, marketing collateral, newsletters, website, and publications
  • Draft, design, target, and deliver regular fundraising communications including solicitations, grant proposals, reports, and donor updates
  • Coordinate identification of foundation prospects and major donor leads, conduct research, and set up meetings with prospective supporters

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in development, communications, or a related field
  • Proven track record of securing foundation grants and managing fundraising programs
  • Excellent writing, design, and project management skills
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with donor database management software (e.g. Raiser's Edge, Salesforce)
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and marketing strategies
  • Familiarity with design software (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Experience with event planning and execution

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/work experience
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in nonprofit fundraising
  • Proficient in WordPress, Canva, Microsoft 365, Constant Contact, and Google Workspace
  • Strong oral and written communications skills including copy editing and proofreading abilities
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
