Mission
What you will drive
Core responsibilities:
- Design patterns within Zoox UI, the design system used for Zoox's operations and internal tools.
- Collaborate with senior designers and cross-functional teams to understand user needs and business requirements.
- Participate in user research, usability testing, design review, and other design validation activities.
- Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design concepts.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our design system and processes.
- Present design solutions and incorporate feedback from stakeholders.
- Document guidelines and details of the new patterns for design team and other audiences.

What makes you a great fit
Required skills and qualifications:
- Currently working towards a B.S., M.S., or advanced degree in a HCI or similar program.
- Good academic standing.
- Able to commit to a 12-week internship beginning in May or June of 2026.
- At least one previous industry internship, co-op, or project completed in a relevant area.
- Ability to relocate to the Bay Area, California for the duration of the internship.
- Knowledge of common front end frameworks such as React, Material UI, Vue.js.
- Experience building products with AI tools.
