Mission

What you will drive

  • Provide technical support for media inquiries related to analysis of data within the Global Fishing Watch map and tools.
  • Lead production of technical reports, visualizations, and static imagery in response to media requests.
  • Plan, curate, and deliver technical trainings to media and press to encourage uptake of Global Fishing Watch technology.
  • Support media outreach program, including leading quarterly data journalism workshops and crafting technical curriculum.

Profile

What makes you a great fit

  • Bachelor's degree in data analytics, fisheries science, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven track record of independently executing data analysis projects or interactive data visualizations.
  • Fluency with analytical coding languages such as R, SQL, or Google BigQuery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with strong writing ability familiar with Associated Press style.

Compensation ranges: US$ 80-95k per year for US-based employees, CAD 135-145k for Canada based, GBP 55-63k for UK based, EUR 65-75k for Ireland, and XOF 35-40m for Senegal based.
