Mission
What you will drive
The Data Analysis Consultant will:
- Facilitate the development and refinement of Early Warning for All (EW4All) and Impact Based Forecasting (IBF) tools at the country level, including creating a QGIS plugin for IBF.
- Provide day-to-day assistance for content management and updates of the RAPAP Platform, including country profiles, data/infographics, stakeholder profiles, resources, monitoring data, tools, and events, while communicating with partners and stakeholders for content contributions.
- Process and upload large datasets (e.g., IPCC CMIP6 heat-related variables, AAL data, approximately 150 TB of climate and risk data) to the ESCAP Risk and Resilience Portal, ensuring standardized metadata, file structure, and API compatibility, and support data harmonization and visualization readiness.
- Update the Regional Multi-hazard coastal methodology with additional climate and socioeconomic data, develop tools for Maldives and Sri Lanka, analyze data for case studies (e.g., Odisha, India), and present work at conferences and capacity-building events.

Required skills and qualifications:
- Experience in data analysis, processing, and management, particularly with large datasets (e.g., climate, risk, or geospatial data) and tools like QGIS for plugin development.
- Proficiency in content management and platform updates, including communication with stakeholders and partners to ensure up-to-date information and explore new features or functionalities.
- Ability to conduct research, data collection, literature reviews, and analysis, with skills in report editing, design, and presentation for projects on air pollution and disaster resilience.
- Knowledge of climate and disaster risk assessment frameworks, machine learning applications for policy recommendations, and experience in capacity building, training, and presenting at regional or national levels.
