How to Apply for Corporate Sustainability & Climate Change Consultant

at Environmental Resources Management

๐Ÿข About Environmental Resources Management

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) is a global leader in sustainability consulting, uniquely positioned to drive the low-carbon transition. With a strong presence in Southeast Asia and a reputation for delivering high-impact ESG projects, ERM offers consultants the chance to work with Fortune 500 clients on cutting-edge climate strategies, net-zero roadmaps, and sustainability reporting.

About This Role

As a Corporate Sustainability & Climate Change Consultant, you will lead projects across Southeast Asia, helping clients develop and execute climate strategies, GHG reduction plans, and Science-Based Targets. This role is impactful because you'll directly influence corporate sustainability programs, human rights due diligence, and circular economy initiatives, shaping how major companies address environmental and social challenges.

๐Ÿ’ก A Day in the Life

Your day might start with a virtual meeting with a client in Bangkok to review their GHG inventory progress, followed by analyzing emissions data in Excel to model reduction scenarios. Afternoon could involve drafting a CDP response for a manufacturing client and collaborating with the team on a proposal for a new net-zero project.

๐ŸŽฏ Who Environmental Resources Management Is Looking For

  • A candidate with a Masterโ€™s in Environmental Science, Engineering, or Sustainability, plus 3+ years of hands-on experience in GHG accounting, net-zero roadmaps, or SBTi validation.
  • Proven expertise in sustainability reporting frameworks like GRI, CDP, and S&P CSA, with a track record of improving client scores.
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in Excel for data modeling, as well as fluency in English (additional Southeast Asian language a plus).
  • A proactive problem-solver who can manage multiple projects, work remotely, and communicate complex climate concepts to diverse stakeholders.

๐Ÿ“ Tips for Applying to Environmental Resources Management

1

Tailor your resume to highlight specific Southeast Asia experience or projects, as the role focuses on that region.

2

Quantify your impact: e.g., 'Reduced client GHG emissions by 20% through a net-zero roadmap' or 'Improved CDP score from B to A'.

3

Mention familiarity with Social/Environmental Return on Investment (SROI) or Natural Capital Protocol, as these are listed in the job description.

4

Include a portfolio or case study of a sustainability project you led, emphasizing your role in strategy development and client management.

5

Address the remote work requirement: briefly note your experience with virtual collaboration tools and self-management.

โœ‰๏ธ What to Emphasize in Your Cover Letter

["Your passion for accelerating the low-carbon transition in Southeast Asia and how your expertise aligns with ERM's mission.", 'Specific examples of leading climate strategy or GHG reduction projects, with measurable outcomes.', 'Your proficiency in sustainability reporting standards (GRI, CDP, S&P CSA) and any experience with SBTi.', 'Your ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating across time zones.']
