Controller

• Manage day-to-day finance and accounting functions including budgeting, financial reporting, audits, compliance, internal controls, cash management, and grant financial management.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports for leadership and the Board, and lead the annual budgeting process.
• Oversee grant financial management, including budgeting, reporting, compliance, and monitoring of funding requirements.
• Lead the annual financial audit and ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, and regulations.

This role ensures the financial integrity and sustainability of a national nonprofit that creates healthier school environments, directly supporting the well-being of millions of children and communities.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or Master's degree strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible accounting and financial management experience in a nonprofit environment.
• Experience with grant-funded organizations, fund accounting, and activity-based accounting required.
• Proficiency in accounting software (Sage, BILL, Concur preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
