Contract and Compliance Specialist

• Manage the full lifecycle of contracts, subcontracts, and subawards, including drafting, review, execution, modifications, tracking, and closeout.
• Ensure compliance with federal regulations (Uniform Guidance), state requirements, and donor policies across all agreements.
• Oversee procurement processes, provide guidance on vendor selection, and maintain purchasing compliance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to streamline workflows, improve processes, and provide training to staff.

This role ensures that American Bird Conservancy’s contracts and compliance processes are efficient and transparent, enabling the organization to effectively use grant funds to protect birds and their habitats across the Americas, benefiting biodiversity and the climate.

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of experience in nonprofit contracts, subcontracting, and subawarding of federal funds, or equivalent combination.
• In-depth knowledge of Federal and non-Federal grant regulations, Uniform Guidance, and agreement terms.
• Experience with procurement processes (bids, cost analyses) and reviewing/coordinating grants, contracts, MOUs, NDAs, and subaward agreements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; proficiency with Excel; experience with NetSuite/PyanGo preferred.

Salary estimated at $81,270 - $90,300 annually.
