Consultant, Greenhouse Gas Inventory and Policy

• Develop and implement national-level case studies demonstrating the translation of atmospheric methane measurements into greenhouse gas inventories.
• Identify 3-5 countries to engage with on integrating atmospheric measurements into inventories.
• Convene interviews with country points of contact and UNFCCC inventory program.

This role accelerates progress on climate change by improving national greenhouse gas inventories through atmospheric measurements, enabling more accurate tracking and reduction of methane emissions.

• Familiarity with national greenhouse gas inventories and IPCC inventory methodologies.
• Deep understanding of the UNFCCC transparency framework (Biennial Transparency Reports, NDCs, National Inventory Reports, Global Stocktake).
• Familiarity with atmospheric methane observations, inversion modeling, or emissions verification.
• Background in methane emissions accounting across energy, agriculture, waste, wetlands, or natural systems.

Hourly consulting rate of $85–$110 per hour (set by contractor based on experience). Independent contractor position (1099), no employee benefits. 100% remote.
