Consultant Ecologist

Core responsibilities include:

• Organising and carrying out desk studies and field-based habitat, botanical, protected and non-native invasive species surveys
• Undertaking the analysis, evaluation, interpretation and presentation of ecological data, including supporting production of Ecological Impact Assessments and design of mitigation strategies
• Safe delivery of protected species and habitat surveys; analysis and evaluation of results, impact assessments, and the design and implementation of successful mitigation strategies
• Performing the role of an Ecological Clerk of Works on construction projects

This role helps shape the future of the environment by working on projects that create a better world, including renewable energy infrastructure, river restoration, flood management, active travel projects, and urban regeneration.

Required qualifications and experience:

• Experience in ecological surveys, data analysis, and impact assessments
• Ability to work on major infrastructure projects, especially in renewable energy sectors
• Skills in habitat creation, ecosystem restoration, enhancement, and management
• Interest in innovative survey techniques for species and habitats surveys, data capture and reporting
