Consultancy: Midterm Review of WWF GEF Corridor Project in Ecuador

Core Responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive midterm evaluation of the WWF GEF Corridor Project in Ecuador, covering project design, implementation, and progress towards outcomes.
• Perform desk reviews, site visits, stakeholder interviews, and data collection to assess project effectiveness, efficiency, and sustainability.
• Develop and deliver evaluation reports with evidence-based findings, lessons learned, and actionable recommendations for project improvement.
• Ensure evaluation adheres to WWF and GEF guidelines, maintaining independence, transparency, and ethical standards throughout the process.

This role contributes to the conservation of biodiversity in the Ecuadorian Amazon by evaluating and improving the effectiveness of connectivity corridors, which help protect ecosystems and promote sustainable livelihoods for local communities.

Required qualifications and experience:

• Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience in project evaluation or related fields.
• Proven experience with evaluation methodologies and excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Technical knowledge in biodiversity, land degradation, ecological connectivity, or protected area management.
• Familiarity with GEF Monitoring and Evaluation Policy and experience in social assessments or gender mainstreaming is preferred.

Compensation and contract details:

• Maximum budget of USD 33,000 for the consultancy period from May to August 2026.
• Opportunity to work on a high-impact conservation project with international organizations like WWF and GEF.
• Involvement in site visits to key project locations in Ecuador, with travel arrangements provided.
