What you will drive

Core responsibilities:

  • Create data science solutions for a diverse set of environmental problems, developing and testing data visualization and analytical tools using statistics, machine learning, and AI
  • Develop efficient pipelines to leverage large data sets, designing and implementing data processing and storage protocols for spatial and non-spatial data
  • Work closely with the CIC team and external partners to incorporate domain expertise into data science solutions that improve conservation workflows
  • Obtain, organize, and process component datasets, implementing effective data organization and documentation systems

What makes you a great fit

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in data science, computer science/engineering, geospatial analysis, GIS or related field
  • 2-3 years experience using data science to solve problems
  • Proficient in Python with familiarity with other programming languages such as JavaScript, R, or similar
  • Familiarity with AI (neural networks for NLP, computer vision) and ML techniques (random forests, clustering, PCA)
  • Familiarity with SQL and relational databases, Git and GitHub
  • Experience analyzing geospatial data and time series data
  • Experience developing and conducting statistical analysis including Bayesian modeling, causal inference methods, and hierarchical models
