Compliance Manager

The Compliance Manager will play an important role assisting with key legal compliance efforts relating to obligations placed on us through our government contracts and awards (largely Departments of Defense and Energy), in addition to assisting with other corporate compliance efforts more broadly.

• Managing corporate compliance obligations placed on us through contracts with Department of Defense and Department of Energy, serving as a touchpoint to understand our complete set of corporate requirements across our contracts
• Helping to negotiate compliance requirements in future government contracts
• Lead export control compliance efforts, including Part 810-related reporting
• Support AML/Sanctions compliance efforts
• Support Facility Clearance (FCL) enablement and sustainment, ensuring corporate structures, policies, and systems remain aligned with government security requirements, and are built in a scalable way

This role is central to enabling Oklo's corporate strategy by ensuring government contracting readiness and ensuring that the company's business processes and compliance frameworks are built with growth and scalability in mind, supporting the development of clean, reliable, and affordable energy at scale.

• 6-10 years of experience in legal or corporate compliance, with special experience with Department of Defense and Department of Energy requirements if possible
• Export control experience, ideally with some exposure to Part 810 and/or Export Controlled Information
• Experience coordinating governance and operational frameworks between parent and subsidiary organizations
• Experience relying on subject matter experts to support compliance efforts in unfamiliar spaces
• Proven record of building compliant IT, HR, finance, and security functions aligned to government requirements
• Detail-oriented while moving lightning fast, resourceful, inquisitive, and willing and able to learn quickly
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, highly iterative startup environment
• Passionate about clean energy and making advanced fission a reality
