What you will drive

Core responsibilities for the Community Relations Manager include:

  • Support and lead community engagement across Ohio and Tennessee, with focused attention on Southeast Ohio and Oak Ridge
  • Build trusted relationships with neighbors, local officials, schools, nonprofits, economic development organizations, and business associations
  • Develop and implement community relations strategies that strengthen Oklo's regional reputation and support project success
  • Respond to community questions and concerns with timely, accurate, and transparent communication
  • Coordinate community events, open houses, school programs, and public meetings
  • Represent Oklo at community events, chamber functions, and local government meetings

Profile

What makes you a great fit

Required qualifications and skills:

  • 8+ years of experience in community relations, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, economic development, or government relations
  • Proven conflict-resolution abilities rooted in empathy, active listening, and building trust across diverse community perspectives
  • Background working within active construction zones and building trust with construction personnel and nearby residents
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, authentic relationships across diverse communities
  • Experience working in or with Appalachian or rural communities is highly beneficial
  • Strong communication skills with ability to engage across technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Comfort with frequent in-person engagement, regional travel, and participation in community events outside standard business hours
