About This Role
As a Community Organizer, you'll craft and facilitate workshops on core organizing skills, build relationships with leaders in impacted communities, and develop creative strategies to address local environmental threats. This role is impactful because you'll empower communities to protect their health and environment, while also increasing Slingshot's media presence and cultivating funding sources to sustain the movement.

A typical day might start with a check-in with a community partner to discuss a local environmental threat, followed by facilitating a workshop on campaign planning for a group of emerging leaders. In the afternoon, you could draft a press release about a new campaign, then meet with a foundation program officer to discuss a grant application. The day ends with reviewing online organizing metrics and planning next steps for a grassroots donor drive.
