Community Interpreter & Translator - Yemeni Arabic

• Provide real-time interpretation between English and Arabic (Yemeni dialect) during meetings, visits, or events with small business and community partners.
• Translate and proofread written materials from English into Arabic, ensuring accuracy and cultural appropriateness.
• Collaborate with SF New Deal staff to clarify project scope, deadlines, and incorporate feedback.

This role enables SF New Deal to provide inclusive, linguistically accessible support to small business and community partners, fostering equity and dignity in community work.

• Fluent and literate in both English and Arabic (preference for Yemeni dialect).
• Prior professional interpretation and translation experience (community, nonprofit, or small business preferred).
• Located in or near San Francisco and able to travel locally.
• Proficient with Google Workspace and Slack.

Compensation: $30–35/hour, depending on relevant experience. Contractor (1099) role with flexible scheduling. Set your own schedule and provide your own tools.
