Community Engagement Summer Internship

Core responsibilities for the Community Engagement Summer Internship:

• Assist the team in organizing ideas in a convincing and compelling manner for a wide range of clients
• Work cross functionally with other departments to ensure deliverables for clients
• Support the development of client-ready marketing, communications, and sustainability recommendations for a portfolio of clients & potential clients
• Devise and execute outreach strategies to develop relationships with community organizations and various types of government entities and institutions to generate participants for TerraCycle's innovative recycling programs

This role creates positive change by expanding TerraCycle's innovative recycling programs through community and government outreach, helping divert waste from landfills and promoting sustainable practices.

Required skills, experience, and qualifications:

• Must be able to commit to minimum 16 hours per week
• A high school diploma or equivalent GED
• Pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies, Public Policy, Political Science, Communication, Sustainability or related field (preferred for Community Engagement roles)
• Intermediate skill in Google Suite
• Strong research acumen to gain insight on competitors, partners, and potential business opportunities
• High level of effectiveness in written, oral and digital communication
• Skilled at messaging across various audiences, adept at verbal and email communications, creative with personalized messaging, and passionate about sustainability
