Description

About Lumos Transforms

Lumos Transforms is a US-based social enterprise advancing trauma-informed, embodied approaches to resilience, healing, and systems transformation. Our work integrates nervous system science, collective care, and structural analysis to support sustainable change across healthcare, education, arts, and social movement ecosystems.

Lumos’ methodologies have delivered measurable, transformative impact in complex environments where burnout, trauma exposure, and systemic harm are real constraints. We approach communications as a core site of narrative power-building—shaping how people understand resilience, responsibility, and possibility in this moment.

The Role

Lumos Transforms is recruiting a Communications Manager to support the day-to-day execution of our communications and content strategy. This is a hands-on role for a skilled producer, editor, and coordinator who can translate narrative direction into consistent, high-quality output across platforms. The Communications Manager works closely with the Communications Director to implement strategy, monitor performance, and adapt tactics based on learning. This role carries primary responsibility for content production and circulation, with operational support from a Communications Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities

Content Production & Channel Management
Execute Lumos’ communications and narrative strategies across platforms and audiences
- Produce, edit, and publish multimedia content, including newsletters, website updates, social media, and program communications
- Maintain and update Lumos’ digital channels in alignment with narrative priorities
- Collaborate with the Communications Coordinator to manage content calendars, production schedules, and launches
Implementation & Monitoring

  • Track and monitor communications goals and performance metrics
  • Surface insights, gaps, and opportunities based on engagement and effectiveness
  • Support iterative testing and refinement of content, framing, and distribution
    Collaboration & Partnerships

  • Coordinate with facilitators, practitioners, and partners to source and amplify content

  • Support polyvocal storytelling by highlighting diverse sites of practice and lived experience
  • Manage relationships with other freelancers or contractors as needed for content production
    Internal Coordination

  • Work closely with Community Programs, Organizational Programs, Partnership Development, and Certification teams

  • Ensure communications timelines align with program delivery and organizational priorities
    Who We’re Looking For

You might be a strong fit if you:

  • Have experience executing communications strategies for mission-driven, justice-aligned, or movement-adjacent organizations
  • Are a confident writer and editor who can adapt voice across audiences and platforms
  • Are comfortable working in small, evolving organizations where clarity, initiative, and collaboration matter
  • Understand communications as both a practical function and a narrative intervention
  • Are organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple timelines without losing coherence
    Role Details

  • This is a part-time (20 hours/week), fully remote position

  • The role is structured as a 3-month 1099 contract, with a formal evaluation at the end of that period
  • Depending on mutual fit and organizational capacity, there may be opportunities to expand hours and role scope over time
    How to Apply

Please submit to [email protected]:

  • A brief cover note describing your interest in the role
  • A resume
  • 2–3 examples of relevant communications work (links or PDFs)
