Mission
What you will drive
The Communications Associate will take the lead on crafting, sharing, and amplifying stories about voter engagement, grassroots advocacy, and community organizing for a more equitable democracy. Essential functions include:
- Digital organizing: Manage communications via email, SMS text, and social media; create digital communications strategies; highlight partner organizations' work; design multilingual voter education materials
- Message development: Support media publications; connect partners with media opportunities; update website; create monthly newsletter; integrate national messaging campaigns
- Field support: Provide strategic guidance and technical support for digital strategies; support volunteer recruitment; create voter education materials; conduct messaging trainings
- Organizational communications: Design branded materials; produce reports; support annual report materials; draft policy testimonies or press statements

Profile
What makes you a great fit
We will consider exceptional candidates who demonstrate a strong combination of:
- Two years minimum experience in communications/social media management within labor, political, student, or community organizing and political campaigns preferred
- Field organizing and direct voter contact experience preferred
- One to two years of experience in graphic design preferred
- Strong skills with Action Network, EveryAction, MailChimp, Constant Contact, BlackBaud Raisers Edge NXT, Salsa, or similar email/donor platforms
- Experience developing and implementing online content and strategy for political/legislative campaigns, nonprofit advocacy organizations, or national organizing campaigns
- Experience working with underrepresented and/or diverse communities
- Excellent communication (written & interpersonal) skills
