Position Summary:
This role is responsible for commercializing selected, capital-intensive growth initiatives by converting prioritized ideas into executed pilots, signed partners, standardized structures, and credible bookings contribution, then handing off scalable offerings to our Product team. The incumbent in this role will work closely with our Chief Financial Officer, Head of Product, direct and indirect sales teams, legal team, technology and operations.
The role is driven by our need for a high-ownership operator who can make new bets real and monetizable—with capital discipline—without distracting Product from owning portfolio strategy and scaled offerings. This role is the bridge between “good idea” and “repeatable commercial engine.”
Responsibilities and Duties:
Core Focus:
Pilot execution: delivery, economics, downside risk, capital deployment for selected initiatives
Converting concepts into executed pilots, signed partners, proof points and repeatable templates
Capital structuring, ROIC discipline and financial risk management during incubation
Pilot Outcomes:
Pilots launched and delivered on time / on budget
Signed partners with enforceable protections (pricing, performance, remedies, SLAs)
Early revenue and/or contracted pipeline attributable to incubated initiatives
Repeatable artifacts produced (pricing model, contract templates, playbooks, enablement)
Economic Outcomes:
Pilot unit economics validated (returns, payback, sensitivity)
Downside risk explicitly bounded (caps, credit protections, step-in rights)
Clear graduation gates; kill/iterate decisions executed quickly
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Own end-to-end commercialization for selected initiatives: partner negotiation, pilot design, pricing, contracting, governance, and launch
Lead capital structuring and investment discipline during incubation; produce IC-ready materials
Build standardized commercial toolkits for Sales adoption (pitch, pricing calculators, templates, enablement)
Coordinate tightly with Product on thresholds and handoff; ensure pilots graduate cleanly or get shut down
Provide transaction/strategic support where incubation intersects with inorganic opportunities (supporting role, not primary mandate)
Other duties as assigned
Required Abilities and Skills:
Proven 0→1 commercialization with real accountability (pilot → revenue → repeatable motion)
Strong finance/deal structuring instincts (risk allocation, ROIC, contractual protections)
High autonomy + high collaboration; can operate cross-functionally
Executive communication; can align CIO/CFO/Product/Sales on tradeoffs and gates
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Finance or related field, or equivalent experience, and
12 – 15+ years of progressive finance, capital markets, investment, management consulting or banking experience preferred
Experience in a start-up environment preferred
