We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cloud Platform Engineer with a strong focus on AWS and DevOps practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure platform, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. A key focus will be continuous improvement of TP ICAP Cloud Platform estate. This role requires a deep understanding of AWS services and a solid foundation in DevOps methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day leadership, guidance, and mentoring to Cloud Platform Engineers, supporting skills development and fostering a high‑performance culture.
  • Oversee workload distribution, ensure effective prioritization of tasks, and manage delivery timelines across the team.
  • Act as the primary technical escalation point for complex issues, driving fast and effective resolution while maintaining service stability.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Platform Engineering and cross‑functional teams to align cloud initiatives with broader technology and business objectives.
  • Champion best practices in cloud engineering, DevOps automation, security, and operational excellence across the team.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, platform roadmaps, and continuous improvement initiatives within the TP ICAP Cloud Platform estate.
  • Ensure consistent documentation standards, knowledge sharing, and adherence to engineering processes and governance models.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance feedback for team members, helping shape the future capability of the Cloud Platform function.
  • Engineer and deploy highly available, scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure on AWS.
  • Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and Gitlab
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Continually evaluating how we operate on cloud platforms – Input into how TP ICAP can continuously improve our cloud maturity.
  • Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost, performance, security, and resilience.
  • Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure system resilience.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues related to cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Ensure compliance with security best practices and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Stay current with the latest AWS services, DevOps tools, and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • 2 + years’ experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on AWS.
  • Strong understanding of network architecture and network security best practices in AWS.
  • Usage of Jira / Confluence
  • Proficiency in DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD, Jenkins, Git, Nexus, Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
  • Expertise in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Operating Systems; Windows Server, Amazon Linux, RHEL, Ubuntu
  • Good understanding of security best practices for AWS Services implementation.
  • In depth knowledge in the following AWS Services – EC2 / RDS / VPC / IAM / Transit Gateway / Direct Connect / Cloud Watch / S3 / EBS / EKS / AWS Backup / AWS System Manager / AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery Service
  • Good understanding of security best practices for AWS Services implementation.
  • Experience in designing and implementing resilient systems, including disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer).
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, NIST).
  • Knowledge of Cloud Native Application Protection Platforms (such as wiz.io, Prisma Cloud, etc.)
