How to Apply for Client Success Manager

at Climate Action

๐Ÿข About Climate Action

Climate Action is a mission-driven commercial business at the forefront of climate policy, innovation, and finance. Since 2007, we've built a global network of 140,000 members and partnered with over 1,000 impact organizations, including UN agencies. Joining us means directly contributing to meaningful climate progress through high-profile events that convene senior leaders from governments, NGOs, investors, and solution providers.

About This Role

As Client Success Manager, you'll own the end-to-end partner experience for our flagship hybrid and digital events, from onboarding to post-event follow-up. You'll act as the main liaison, coordinating with internal teams to deliver seamless, high-value experiences that drive measurable impact for both partners and Climate Action. This role offers hands-on exposure to international climate events and the chance to build lasting relationships with key stakeholders.

๐Ÿ’ก A Day in the Life

A typical day might start with checking in with partners via email or calls to address any urgent needs, then coordinating with the events team on logistics for an upcoming summit. You could spend the afternoon reviewing partner onboarding materials, preparing for a stakeholder meeting, and troubleshooting a last-minute speaker change. Throughout, you'll track progress in CRM and ensure every partner feels supported and valued.

๐ŸŽฏ Who Climate Action Is Looking For

  • Proven experience in client success, account management, or event coordination, ideally in a B2B or mission-driven environment.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and resolve issues proactively.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of coordinating complex event logistics across internal teams (e.g., content, marketing, operations).
  • Passion for climate action and a clear understanding of the policy, innovation, and finance landscape.

๐Ÿ“ Tips for Applying to Climate Action

1

Tailor your resume to highlight client-facing roles and specific examples of how you've driven client satisfaction or retention.

2

In your cover letter, explicitly connect your personal motivation for climate action to Climate Action's mission and event portfolio.

3

Research their past events (e.g., Sustainable Innovation Forum) and mention how your skills align with their high-profile, international audience.

4

Use quantifiable achievements (e.g., 'Managed 20+ partner accounts, achieving 95% retention rate') to demonstrate impact.

5

Proofread thoroughlyโ€”this role demands attention to detail; a typo could signal carelessness.

โœ‰๏ธ What to Emphasize in Your Cover Letter

['Your experience managing client relationships in a fast-paced, event-driven or partnership environment.', 'Your ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver seamless, high-quality experiences.', 'Your genuine commitment to climate action and understanding of the intersection of policy, innovation, and finance.', "Specific examples of how you've solved problems or exceeded client expectations under pressure."]

โš ๏ธ Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Submitting a generic cover letter that doesn't mention climate action or the company's specific mission.
  • Overlooking the importance of event logisticsโ€”this role is hands-on; don't just focus on relationship management.
  • Failing to demonstrate proactive problem-solving; they value candidates who can troubleshoot in-flight issues independently.
