at Intersect Power

🏢 About Intersect Power

Intersect Power stands out as a forward-thinking energy company focused on scalable low-carbon solutions for both retail and wholesale markets, offering clean electricity and fuels. Their commitment to advancing complex clean energy projects from early feasibility through construction makes them a leader in the renewable energy transition. Working here means contributing to tangible climate solutions while being part of a remote-first team that values innovation and collaboration.

About This Role

As a Civil Engineer on the Development Engineering team, you'll advance complex clean energy projects from early feasibility through Issued for Construction (IFC) design, owning early-stage civil due diligence and optimizing site layouts. This role is impactful because you'll directly guide civil design elements and mitigate design, budget, and schedule risks, ensuring projects move efficiently from concept to completion. You'll collaborate closely with Development, Engineering, Real Estate, GIS, Permitting, Construction, Finance, and Operations teams.

💡 A Day in the Life

A typical day might involve analyzing site constraints and optimizing layouts for solar or wind projects, collaborating with Development and Engineering teams on feasibility assessments, and reviewing civil design elements to mitigate risks. You could be creating constraint maps, participating in cross-functional meetings with Real Estate, GIS, Permitting, or Construction partners, and advancing projects toward Issued for Construction design milestones.

🎯 Who Intersect Power Is Looking For

  • Has 2+ years of hands-on experience in design, project management, or construction specifically within renewable energy projects (solar/wind)
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of civil design principles, technical diligence processes, and EPC construction standards applicable to clean energy infrastructure
  • Possesses working knowledge of wind and/or solar system design, optimization techniques, and cost drivers that affect project viability
  • Exhibits excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional partners across development, engineering, and operations
