How to Apply for Civics Associate

at Blue Haven Initiative

🏢 About Blue Haven Initiative

Blue Haven Initiative is a single-family office that uniquely combines competitive financial returns with meaningful social and environmental impact, focusing on long-term systemic change. Founded by Liesel and Ian Simmons, it offers a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of investing, policy, and advocacy, with a strong commitment to strengthening democracy and the economy.

About This Role

As the Civics Associate, you will take ownership of projects across the full lifecycle, from research and stakeholder outreach to execution and relationship management. This role is designed for growth, offering a clear path to lead project development from concept to execution, and directly contributes to advancing smart tax reform, fairer democracy, and civic engagement.

💡 A Day in the Life

A typical day might start with checking emails and prioritizing tasks, then diving into research on a policy area like tax reform, drafting memos or stakeholder communications. You might coordinate with external partners, schedule meetings, and track project milestones, while also brainstorming new initiatives with the Civics team. The day is dynamic, blending independent work with collaboration, and requires adaptability as projects evolve.
