Chief Programme Officer

Core responsibilities:

• Keeping the organisational strategic vision central to programming
• Working closely with vertical-leads to ensure programmes meet timelines, objectives, and resource usage requirements
• Working with Resource Mobilisation team on fundraising, proposals, budgets, and donor communications
• Representing the programme vertical externally and internally, bringing in new strategic ideas

This role creates positive change by leading Breakthrough's largest programme vertical, which reaches 100,000 adolescents and 12,000 youth directly, plus 1 million more through school systems, working to shift social norms that limit women and girls from reaching their full potential.

Required skills and experience:

• 20+ years of experience with at least 10 years leading programmes at strategic level
• Prior experience working with large, diverse, and remote teams
• Proven experience in programming and organisational leadership positions
• Strategic thinker with persuasive communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
• Passionate about gender justice and equity
