Chief Program Officer

• Provide executive oversight and integration across BEF's water, carbon, and energy programs, ensuring alignment with mission and strategic priorities.
• Lead strategic growth in emerging areas such as data center water and energy stewardship, community energy, and corporate water stewardship.
• Develop and maintain a rigorous performance management framework, tracking results and holding teams accountable for impact.
• Drive client base diversification and revenue strategy to reduce concentration risk and ensure financial sustainability.

This role drives BEF's mission to deliver measurable environmental benefits through renewable energy and freshwater stewardship, expanding impact in data center sustainability, community energy, and corporate water stewardship while supporting Tribal priorities.

• 15+ years of progressive leadership in environmental, sustainability, or related nonprofit sectors, with at least 7 years in senior/executive management.
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in environmental sciences, public policy, or business strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success managing complex program portfolios and leading high-performing teams.
• Strong command of program design, performance measurement, and continuous improvement; excellent communication and strategic agility.

• Salary range: $170,000-$210,000 per year DOE.
