ABOUT CATF:
Clean Air Task Force (CATF) is a nonprofit organization working to safeguard against the worst impacts of climate change by catalyzing the rapid global development and deployment of low-carbon energy and other climate-protecting technologies. This is accomplished through research and analysis, public advocacy leadership, and partnership with the private sector. CATF is highly respected for its deep expertise and research on energy and industrial systems and potential strategies, technologies, and policies that can radically shrink their impact on the planet’s atmosphere. Our team of experts and advocates (and global network of subject matter experts and civil society partners) put this research and knowledge into action by designing and enacting public policies that drive toward zero emissions. We also support policies and work directly with private industry to innovate in technology to make the path to zero emissions swift and affordable. CATF has offices in Boston, Washington D.C., and Brussels, with staff working virtually around the world.
ROLE
The Chief of Development will help ensure the long-term sustainability and impact of Clean Air Task Force by overseeing the organization’s multi-stream, global revenue strategy and fundraising function. As a key member of the Executive Team, the Chief of Development reports directly to the Managing Director and works closely with the Executive Director, the Chief of Finance and Operations, and senior leaders within the Development and Communications and Marketing teams to lead an overarching, global, diversified revenue strategy that ensures long- term financial health and growth.
This work will include stewardship of existing revenue streams, identification of new potential revenue streams, and the development of integrated, data-informed systems to target, engage, and convert diverse sources of financial support. Working in close collaboration with CATF’s Global Director of Communications and Marketing, the Chief of Development will also help to ensure strategic positioning within a range of important markets (both domestic and global) and
help to cultivate a distinct organizational identity that is compelling to a broad and increasingly diversified portfolio of funders.
The Chief of Development will oversee development experts tasked with fostering, stewarding, and expanding high-level relationships with philanthropic leaders, institutional funders, high-net-worth individual donors, and other key stakeholders to grow CATF’s global resources and influence. In addition, this leader will be a committed people manager, providing mentorship, direction, and leadership to a close-knit development team while supporting the continued evolution of the function.
