Chief Impact Officer

• Lead GFW's global program strategy, delivery, and monitoring, evaluation, and learning to turn organizational work into measurable impact in countering illegal fishing, strengthening marine protection, and promoting transparency.
• Drive impact directly through program and policy work and scale it by getting GFW's platform into the hands of more governments and civil society.
• Oversee the program budget, support fundraising, and ensure robust frameworks for evaluating program effectiveness and reporting impact.

This role directly advances ocean governance and conservation by turning GFW's technology and data into measurable impact, helping to combat illegal fishing, improve marine protected areas, and promote transparency at sea.

• Senior-level experience designing, leading, and managing large-scale programs for governance reform in international ocean conservation.
• Deep technical knowledge of global marine conservation issues, international ocean policies, and marine governance political economy.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and scale globally distributed teams, with strong diplomatic, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required; Master's degree highly preferred.

Compensation ranges: US$230K-250K per year (US-based), £150K-£170K GBP (UK), €130K-€160K EUR (EU/Spain). GFW offers pension/retirement, health, and other benefits commensurate with similar level employees in the country of employment. Remote role with flexible working hours and frequent international travel.
