Chief Field Office

As Chief Field Office based in Kano, the incumbent will be responsible to:

• Lead for results, drive change, provide risk-informed, solution-focused analysis, advice, and services
• Contribute to programme and management decisions for delivering results for children in all operational contexts
• Manage and lead the total programme commitment of the field office for three states (Jigawa, Katsina and Kano)
• Represent UNICEF in the Area of Responsibility, leading and overseeing various programme sectors and operational service teams

This role delivers results for children in all operational contexts, working to save children's lives, defend their rights, and help them fulfill their potential in some of the world's toughest places.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have:

• An advanced university degree in social sciences, international relations, public administration, government and public relations, public or social policy, sociology, social or community development, or another relevant technical field
• A minimum of ten years of professional work experience in programme management, planning, monitoring and evaluation, project administration or another relevant area
• Fluency in English required; knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset
• Strategic and innovative thinking, ability to take risks, hands-on programmatic experience, and excellent interpersonal and leadership skills required
