Core responsibilities:

• Represent UNICEF in Tindouf and the Sahrawi refugee camps, participating in meetings and events to advance the agenda for children
• Lead the planning and implementation of humanitarian response interventions through solid workplans with partners and teams
• Ensure effective management of UNICEF presence, staff and assets, including safety and security measures
• Establish and supervise programme work plans, monitor progress and compliance, and optimize use of programme funds

This role creates positive change by leading UNICEF's humanitarian response for Sahrawi refugees in Algeria, ensuring children's rights are protected and their needs are met through effective programme implementation and coordination.

Required qualifications:

• Advanced university degree in social sciences, international relations, public administration, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of professional work experience at national and international levels in programme management, monitoring and evaluation
• Experience in emergency/humanitarian contexts and working with refugees or displaced populations
• Fluency in English and French required; knowledge of Arabic or Spanish an asset
