Carbon Accounting Associate

Core responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with clients to facilitate their understanding of optimal data collection methods and how to leverage Green Project software for ESG controls
• Manage data inputs with attention to detail to ensure completeness, accuracy, and documentation for audit-ready carbon footprints
• Utilize Excel to calculate Scope 1-3 emissions in conjunction with software, demonstrating proficiency in GHG Protocol
• Maintain and expand databases housing GHG emission factors, contributing to ongoing enhancement of methodology

This role helps businesses of all sizes track and reduce their corporate carbon footprint through accurate carbon accounting and data-driven decarbonization advice, contributing to broader climate action and sustainability efforts.

Required qualifications:

• 2+ years in carbon accounting, GHG/decarbonization modeling, LCA analysis, or related field strongly recommended
• Deep understanding of carbon accounting methodologies and regulations including GHG Protocol
• Strong Excel skills and excellent communication skills
• Undergraduate degree in Climate Studies, Environmental Studies, Energy Studies, Business, Finance, Economics, or related field
