How to Apply for Campaign Director - Power Building

at Faith in Action

🏢 About Faith in Action

Faith in Action is unique as the largest faith-based grassroots organizing network in the U.S., with over 50 years of history advancing racial and economic justice through community power building. Working here means joining a legacy organization that combines faith traditions with strategic organizing to create systemic change, offering the opportunity to work within a national network while maintaining deep local community connections.

About This Role

As Campaign Director - Power Building, you'll lead strategic initiatives across Federation Support, Training, and National Campaigns programs, translating organizational objectives into actionable organizing strategies. This role is impactful because you'll directly shape how Faith in Action builds power across communities, develops leaders, and advances racial and economic justice through coordinated national-local campaigns.

💡 A Day in the Life

A typical day might involve morning check-ins with federation partners to coordinate campaign activities, followed by analyzing data from recent organizing efforts to inform strategy adjustments. Afternoons could include designing training materials for program staff, participating in coalition calls with faith-based partners, and developing briefing materials for national campaign initiatives.

🎯 Who Faith in Action Is Looking For

  • Has 5+ years of progressive experience specifically in faith-based or community organizing campaigns with demonstrated success at multiple levels (local, state, and/or federal)
  • Possesses deep understanding of how to build power through federated structures and can navigate the unique dynamics of faith-based organizing networks
  • Has experience designing and implementing training programs that develop organizing staff capacity within social justice contexts
  • Can demonstrate how they've used research and data analysis to inform campaign strategy and program development in previous organizing roles

Quantify your organizing impact: Instead of saying 'led campaigns,' specify how many people you mobilized, policy changes achieved, or federations you supported in previous roles

2

3

Demonstrate understanding of their federated structure by describing how you've worked across multiple organizations or chapters in previous roles

4

Include specific examples of how you've developed training programs or supported staff development in organizing contexts

5

Reference specific Faith in Action campaigns or initiatives you admire and explain how your experience aligns with their approach to power building
