Bookkeeper

Core responsibilities:

• Code bank transactions in a timely manner and maintain GAAP Accounting standards on an accrual basis
• Complete bank reconciliations of the previous month's books by the 15th of every month and keep all relevant documentation organized in online systems
• Track all grants and time-restricted net assets, ensuring donor-restricted funds are used according to agreements
• Prepare board financials with narrative notes, file 1099s annually, and assist with yearly audit and 990 review

Required skills and qualifications:

• Detail-oriented and reliable bookkeeping professional with experience supporting nonprofit finance operations
• Comfortable with flexible, independent work and supporting a small nonprofit with clean, accurate financial processes
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Bill.com for transaction coding, invoice entry, and documentation management
• Knowledgeable about GAAP Accounting standards, bank reconciliations, grant tracking, and financial reporting for nonprofits
