About This Role

As a Black Rural Organizer-in-Training in the Northeast Region, you will be immersed in community organizing and climate justice work, learning to build power and support frontline communities across NY, CT, NH, ME, MA, RI, and NJ. This role is impactful because it invests in entry-level talent, providing training and hands-on experience to cultivate the next generation of leaders who will advance systemic change in rural areas often overlooked in climate activism.

A typical day might involve virtual team meetings and training sessions, followed by outreach calls or virtual meetings with community partners in rural areas. You could spend time researching local issues, preparing materials for upcoming workshops, or traveling to a community event to support organizing efforts, all while documenting your progress and learning from mentors.
