Mission
What you will drive
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Daily operation of national microbiological surveillance
- Development, automation, and optimization of bioinformatic workflows and pipelines for handling WGS data with focus on quality, traceability, and robustness
- Operation and maintenance of bioinformatic platforms and systems, including Galaxy, IRIDA, and SQL databases
- Monitoring and quality assurance of bioinformatic analyses in a routine production environment
- Development of documentation and teaching materials for communicating technical and bioinformatic knowledge
- Participation in interdisciplinary collaboration between laboratories and bioinformatics
- Contribution to integration and data exchange between systems, including via APIs

What makes you a great fit
We expect that you:
- Have experience with WGS-based surveillance of microorganisms and work structured with high quality and delivery reliability
- Have practical experience with Illumina and Nanopore sequencing technologies
- Can handle operation, monitoring, and quality assurance of bioinformatic analyses
- Have experience with development and maintenance of bioinformatic pipelines and workflows
- Have good programming skills (e.g., Python, Bash, and/or R)
- Have understanding of the connection between laboratory production, bioinformatic analysis, and subsequent data storage and use
- Have experience with SQL and databases and can work with both existing solutions and development of new ones
- Have experience working in UNIX/Linux environments, preferably including use of high-performance computing (HPC)
- Can communicate technical and bioinformatic knowledge clearly and structured
