Mission

What you will drive

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Daily operation of national microbiological surveillance
  • Development, automation, and optimization of bioinformatic workflows and pipelines for handling WGS data with focus on quality, traceability, and robustness
  • Operation and maintenance of bioinformatic platforms and systems, including Galaxy, IRIDA, and SQL databases
  • Monitoring and quality assurance of bioinformatic analyses in a routine production environment
  • Development of documentation and teaching materials for communicating technical and bioinformatic knowledge
  • Participation in interdisciplinary collaboration between laboratories and bioinformatics
  • Contribution to integration and data exchange between systems, including via APIs

What makes you a great fit

We expect that you:

  • Have experience with WGS-based surveillance of microorganisms and work structured with high quality and delivery reliability
  • Have practical experience with Illumina and Nanopore sequencing technologies
  • Can handle operation, monitoring, and quality assurance of bioinformatic analyses
  • Have experience with development and maintenance of bioinformatic pipelines and workflows
  • Have good programming skills (e.g., Python, Bash, and/or R)
  • Have understanding of the connection between laboratory production, bioinformatic analysis, and subsequent data storage and use
  • Have experience with SQL and databases and can work with both existing solutions and development of new ones
  • Have experience working in UNIX/Linux environments, preferably including use of high-performance computing (HPC)
  • Can communicate technical and bioinformatic knowledge clearly and structured
