About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Backend Software Engineer to join our Research team. As a Backend Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and efficient backend systems that support our research initiatives. You will work closely with our research scientists and engineers to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient backend systems using Java, Python, or other relevant programming languages.
- Collaborate with research scientists and engineers to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of backend systems with other components of our research infrastructure.
- Participate in code reviews, contribute to the development of best practices, and help maintain high-quality code.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues with backend systems, and implement fixes and improvements.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in the field, and apply this knowledge to improve our research infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on backend systems.
- Proficiency in Java, Python, or other relevant programming languages.
- Experience with cloud-based platforms such as AWS or GCP.
- Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git.
- Familiarity with containerization using Docker.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Strong understanding of security best practices and compliance regulations.
