Backend Engineer

Core responsibilities for this Backend Engineer role:

• Design and develop distributed systems, improve service reliability, and shape long-term architectural strategy
• Build robust and fault-tolerant software using Python, Django, and related technologies
• Work on HTTP/REST APIs, GraphQL, and other API technologies to support business energy products
• Collaborate with marketing, operations, and data teams to deliver market-leading green energy products

This role accelerates the green energy transition by building products that help businesses switch to renewable energy, lower bills, and enable greener living while supporting grid decarbonization.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Strong experience with Python and Django (or equivalent web frameworks)
• Expertise in domain modelling and designing distributed systems
• Proficiency with HTTP/REST APIs, GraphQL, and API technologies
• Experience with Postgres, Celery, and async processing
• Bonus skills: AWS, Terraform, Packer, Consul
