Back End Engineer

Core responsibilities:

• Design and develop cross-functional, multi-platform application systems to ingest, process, analyze, and serve large amounts of data in the cloud, often in real-time, ensuring craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability.
• Work hands-on across the stack with NodeJS/TypeScript (using frameworks like Express/Koa/NestJS) and experiment with new technologies.
• Take the lead in meeting with clients to define requirements, propose solutions, and integrate disparate technologies such as remote sensing, machine learning, image processing, or statistical computing into public APIs.
• Ensure software quality, robustness, and compliance with standards by reviewing code, documenting, and creating automated tests.

Required skills and experience:

• Proficiency in NodeJS/TypeScript, with experience in back-end or software engineering roles (mid-level or senior).
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, including SQL, and experience with Docker or container technologies.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure setup, infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform), and designing modular architectures like microservices.
• Strong collaboration skills, a growth mindset, empathy for users, and the ability to adapt to changing project needs.

Compensation and perks:

• Annual salary between €30,000 - €49,000, with a profit-sharing bonus plan up to 10% of salary and a €1,000 referral bonus.
