How to Apply for Associate, Procurement Innovation

at Partners for Public Good

🏢 About Partners for Public Good

Partners for Public Good is a nonpartisan team that embeds with state and local governments to improve procurement, staffing, budgeting, and technology systems, ensuring policies translate into tangible results. They focus on implementation, not just advice, and leverage a network of 3,000+ government professionals to share innovations across jurisdictions. Working here means directly impacting how governments operate and serve communities.

About This Role

This role supports a new initiative with two large city governments to pilot and surface cutting-edge procurement solutions, including increasing vendor competition, applying AI in back-office operations, strengthening interdepartmental coordination, and engaging residents. As an Associate, you'll engage with these cities, test innovations, and help translate successes into scalable practices, driving meaningful change in public procurement.

💡 A Day in the Life

You'll likely start your day by checking in with city government partners via video call, discussing progress on pilot projects and addressing any roadblocks. You might spend time analyzing procurement data to identify bottlenecks or opportunities, then draft a memo or tool for the Procurement Excellence Network. Afternoons could involve virtual workshops with city staff to co-create solutions, followed by synthesizing feedback into actionable recommendations for the Assistant Director.
