Associate General Counsel, Origination & Commercial - Battery Storage

Core responsibilities:

• Partner with Origination and Commercial Team in negotiation of offtake agreements, including tolling agreements and other structured offtake
• Support the Origination and Commercial Team in conducting due diligence and negotiations on M&A opportunities
• Support the Origination and Commercial Team in reviewing request for proposals and developing comprehensive bid submittals, including markups of key agreements
• Function as an internal quarterback for offtake transactions, soliciting feedback and review of documents from subject matter experts

This role supports the development of utility-scale standalone storage projects that transform North American electric grids into cleaner and more versatile critical infrastructure, enabling the transition from a carbon-based grid to a renewable energy grid.

Required skills and qualifications:

• J.D. degree required
• Minimum 3-4 years of top-tier law firm experience working with renewable energy project development
• At least 1-2 years of in-house legal experience with a renewable energy/standalone energy storage developer or investor-owned utility
• Experience leading negotiations of power purchase agreements and structuring project-scale M&A transactions
