Associate Director, Planned Giving (Legacy Giving Advisor)

Core responsibilities:

• Lead and co-create the vision and strategy for THL's planned giving program, including developing and executing dynamic annual plans to grow revenue and build a robust pipeline of future gifts
• Manage a portfolio of 200+ Legacy Society donors and 300+ identified prospects, building long-term relationships, qualifying leads, and creating individualized engagement plans using THL's CRM
• Design and implement an innovative annual marketing plan, integrating planned giving messaging into broadcast email and direct mail calendars, and conceptualizing content for educational webinars and stewardship gatherings
• Oversee the full lifecycle of estate administration in collaboration with Legal, manage charitable gift annuities with external partners, and ensure all planned giving activities comply with IRS regulations and internal policies

This role helps secure long-term resources needed to fight factory farming globally, shaping the future of a global movement and strengthening work that protects billions of animals by building THL's planned giving program to grow long-term revenue while stewarding generous individuals in the Legacy Society.

Required skills and qualifications:

• 7+ years of fundraising experience with 5+ years specific to planned giving or legacy marketing, including knowledge of planned giving best practices and gift vehicles like bequests and charitable gift annuities
• Advanced education and/or certification such as Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) preferred, with familiarity with estate administration process and staying current on legislative trends
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for donor interactions, strong interpersonal skills with high emotional intelligence, and ability to work collaboratively across departments
• Strong data analysis skills using CRM systems, strategic thinking ability, problem-solving skills, adaptability, initiative, and time management with effective prioritization

Compensation and benefits:

• Salary range: $95,684–$116,586 USD annually with a structured job architecture and no-negotiation policy for equity
